Lost Forty Studios
The Mission of Lost Forty Studios is to bring visionary local stories to the screen by combining the strongest aspects of studio film production with the endless possibilities of independent filmmaking while creating and investing in a film-production community on the Iron Range of Minnesota.

What we are
Lost Forty Studios is a new Minnesota-based film studio which aims to make unparalleled quality films in the Iron Range of Minnesota while creating a structure to grow a healthy film production community based in its home city of Chisholm, Minnesota, and radiating out into the greater Range. Founded by Karl Gajdusek (Stranger Things, Oblivion, The King’s Man) and named after the famous old-growth state park in northern Minnesota, Lost Forty integrates local and national financing, incentive structures, project development, production and sales, while creating jobs, filmmaking opportunities and investing in the people and land we are a part of. Shooting stories of, about, and set in upper Minnesota, we aim to show the Range in all its beauty and depth, and to offer film makers the world over this untapped canvas for their imaginations.
We are less than six months old, yet through the experience and talent of our group, we are firing on every cylinder one might expect of a fully functioning film studio.

Through our partnerships with Los Angeles agencies Verve and Management 360, we have direct access to the highest level of creatives and production professionals in the world.
